Outgoing U.S. President Donald Trump pardoned Anthony Levandowski, saving the engineer from more than a year in prison for stealing trade secrets from his former employer, Alphabet Inc.’s Waymo.

Amazon.com is pulling out of a plan to build a headquarters in New York City, after a backlash from some residents and politicians, the e-commerce giant said.

Waymo, a unit of Alphabet Inc., got a permit in late January from the Arizona Department of Transportation to operate as a Transportation Network Company, according to Ryan Harding, a spokesman at the state agency.
