UPS Inc. is in talks with robotics startup Figure AI to use humanoid robots for some tasks in the logistics giant’s network, according to people familiar with the matter.

Hundreds of well-funded robotics startups are working on self-driving cars, self-piloting drones and shelf-diving warehouse robots. One lesser-known area that’s beginning to draw the attention of investors: autonomous lawn mowers.

DHL’s supply chain unit doubled its use of robots in the U.S. this year and now has about 1,500 picking robots at its warehouses around the country, on top of adding 15,000 seasonal workers, Oscar de Bok, chief executive of the unit, said in an interview with Bloomberg TV Dec. 10.
