Improved efficiency, better communication and slower growth are three of the reasons truck turn times at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach in November fell to their second-lowest level since March 2014, the Harbor Trucking Association announced. 

Truck drivers took seven minutes less, on average, to enter and exit the two large Southern California ports in February compared with the same period a year ago.

The average time to enter and exit the two largest containerports in the United States slowed one minute in January on a year-over-year basis, although the percentage of trips over two hours fell in the same period.

The average time it took a trucker to enter and exit the ports in Los Angeles and Long Beach, Calif., inched up one minute in June from the same month in 2016, although data from the Harbor Trucking Association revealed encouraging signs that drivers are moving quicker than a year ago.
