WASHINGTON — Two federal executive branch officials told members of American Trucking Associations they are eager to work with the federation on spending and regulatory issues that are developing this year.

Federal Transit Administrator Peter Rogoff is filling the position of undersecretary for policy at the U.S. Department of Transportation on an acting basis, Bloomberg News reported.

Polly Trottenberg, undersecretary for policy at the U.S. Department of Transportation, will leave that post to become New York City’s transportation  commissioner under new Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Highway construction and safety programs will remain operational despite most federal government functions shutting down Oct. 1 after legislators failed to agree on a measure to fund the government, the Department of Transportation said.
