ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø began testing its autonomous trucks on what is expected to be the Daimler Truck subsidiary’s first driverless freight lane between Laredo and Dallas, the parent company said.

Daimler Truck’s heavy-duty hydrogen fuel cell electric truck ambitions took another step forward in recent weeks, as testing of the prototype Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Truck ramped up.

The truck maker posted net income of $676.6 million, or diluted earnings per share of 83 cents, in Q3, down 35% from $1.033 billion, or $1.22, in the year-ago period.

The software platform will enable Daimler Truck, Volvo Group and potential customers of the joint venture to offer independent and digital vehicle functions for their products, the companies said. Customers will be able to add and update digital applications remotely, potentially reducing downtime and simplifying maintenance.
